Art & Math Fusion

Art & Math Fusion

Grades 4-6

Art & Math Fusion is designed for 4th-6th graders as an engaging and hands-on educational experience that seamlessly integrates mathematics and art. Students will use a variety of tools, such as sliding compasses, circle rulers, rulers, and protractors, to explore and create artistic pieces that are inspired by mathematical principles and the fundamental elements of art. This program aims to foster a deeper understanding of both subjects while encouraging creativity and critical thinking.

DiMA

DiMA

Grades 4-12

The Digital Media Academy program introduces students to educational technology through subjects like photography, videography, and other forms of digital media. This program seeks to boost confidence in technology for work, learning, and daily life. Students will learn how to use equipment such as digital cameras and editing software to make connections between technology, nature, real world concepts, and careers. DiMA currently has two rotating curriculums, Photography and Stop Motion Animation.

Discovery Labs

AeroVentures

Grades 6-8

Things are only impossible until they're not. –Captain Jean-Luc Picard

If you have an interest in the great beyond, join AeroVentures to explore exciting concepts in aeronautics and aerospace engineering. Study how flight works by getting hands-on building, testing, and redesigning gliders, darts, and rockets. Think critically and creatively about where this industry could go as you take on engineering design challenges and explore aeronautics, aviation, and aerospace careers.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Grades 6-8

Calling all STEM SUPERHEROS!

We need YOU to join the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Student Heroes Intervening for Ecological and Long-Lasting Design)! Work with your team to make decisions on how to address natural and human-caused disasters that are impacting our world. Put on your safety glasses and thinking caps as you investigate civil, mechanical, and chemical engineering concepts and methods. Model disasters to understand their effects and design potential mitigations and remediations. Are you ready to get messy with science concepts?

ECOBuilders

Grades 6-8

Greetings, Global Citizens! Do you care about the Earth and your community? Do you want to explore the ways you can make an impact through renewable and sustainable construction and energy choices? Join us to investigate solar, wind, and water power as renewable sources of energy. Debate which sources you would want to power your home or school. Finish the semester with the ECOBuilders Challenge to put all your new knowledge into practice as you design and build the next generation of green shelters and market your ideas to potential investors.

Generation Genius

Generation Genius is an educational platform created by Dr. Jeff Vinokur that is used to make learning science fun and accessible for young learners! Generation Genius uses educational videos and do-it-yourself activities to teach various science concepts, aligning with the Next Generation Science Standards. Students will conduct experiments, make observations, and use evidence to support their ideas in science and engineering.

Generation Genius K

Grade K

Students will engage in several hands-on activities like making a bird feeder and building a dam to see how it blocks flowing water!

Generation Genius 1

Grade 1

Students will explore hands-on activities like making a bird caller, string telephone, and a waterproof shoe!

Generation Genius 2

Grade 2

Students will explore hands-on activities like making a landscape, instant snow, and exploring lake formation!

Generation Genius 3

Grade 3

Third grade topics include: animal & plant life cycles, ecosystems, adaptations and the environment, fossils & extinction, animal group behavior, magnets & static electricity, patterns of motion & friction, variation of traits and more.

Generation Genius 4

Grade 4

4th grade topics include: brain processing of senses, rock formations, energy transfer, wave properties, Earth's resources, light reflection, weathering and erosion.

Generation Genius 5

Grade 5

5th grade topics include: conservation of matter, Earth’s orbit and rotation, food webs, particle nature of matter, properties of matter, chemical vs. physical changes, interaction of Earth’s spheres, water quality & distribution and more.

Math Fluency

Math Fluency - class room Math Fluency - station

Math Fluency

Grades 1-3

The Math Fluency OST curriculum engages students in fun and interactive activities that develop number sense and understanding of addition and subtraction. The activities are designed for students to build a strong foundation for basic arithmetic through games and hands-on activities. The instructional materials are aligned with CCSS-M standards in grades 1-2. Third grade students who need additional support in early numeracy are also encouraged to participate. The instructional activities are based on research of math learning trajectories and Math Recovery intervention strategies.

Math Snacks

Math Snacks

Grades 4-6

Hungry for some tasty math? Try Math Snacks!

Math Snacks are a series of online video games and animations that are tied with hands-on math activities to help develop hard to understand concepts in mathematics. Concepts addressed are place value, ratios, coordinate grids, and pre-algebra, just to name a few. Students interact with the games and each other while exploring these mathematical concepts. Each game or animation is followed up with a fun, collaborative activity which reinforces mathematical thinking and learning.

Readers Theater

Readers Theater 3

Grade 3

Readers Theater provides a multi-sensory, multi-disciplinary way to teach literacy skills to students. This curriculum seeks to help students improve in vocabulary, comprehension, and retention, while participating in hands-on STREAM-based activities. Students in Readers Theater 3rd grade will swim under water with Hermit Crab in A House for Hermit Crab, visit space with Meteor in Mousetronaut, and travel back in time to romp at the dinosaurstomp. All while learning literacy skills with fun activities!

SciGirls

SciGirls

Grades 4-8

SciGirls draws on cutting-edge research about what engages girls in STEM learning and careers. SciGirls seeks to help students develop positive STEM Identities, and the confidence to envision themselves as innovative problem-solvers. The videos, interactive website, and hands-activities work together to address a singular but powerful goal: to inspire, enable, and maximize STEM learning and participation for all students, especially girls, with an eye toward future STEM careers.

Story Explorations

Electives

Electives

Any Grade

Electives provide opportunities for schools to tailor programming to fit their needs. This means you will be creating your own curriculum and requesting materials for your program, but don’t worry you won’t do this alone; you will work with your school coordinator and elective coordinator to bring your adventure to life. Electives provide opportunities for schools to customize other non-exclusive STEM-based curriculum in visual and performing arts like dance and mariachi, tutoring, athletics, language, technology, or any topic that addresses a school need for academic learning and enrichment.
